KONTAKTE – KEEP ON LIVIN’ engages with dynamics of change, methods of working and attitudes. The project moves loosely between Stockhausen’s spatial concept Kontakte (1960) and Le Tigre’s electro-punk dynamics, Keep on Livin’(2002). Rather than create another group show, Kontakte – Keep on Livin’ brings working dynamics and attitudes into the foreground.

KONTAKTE – KEEP ON LIVIN’ is a project by Annette Kosak. Five art practices come together through two events: a live night with art group NORWEGIAN LADY and an intense one room exhibition that invites the visitor to navigate between videos, installations, objects and live events.

LIVE - Thursday 10th October 9 pm

Exhibition warming: Norwegian Lady will play live in the exhibition space one week before the opening. Their sound engages skilfully with Disco, Electro and Rock concepts, navigating playfully between different styles. Constantly shifting roles and attitudes, swapping instruments among them, Norwegian Lady want to ‘humanise’ the music industry.

EXHIBITION – Opening – Thursday 17th October

Pil & Galia Kollectiv’s practice reflects their fascination with appropriating and manipulating cultural codes. They will show two recent videos creating specific contexts for each of them. Their project examines ‘Kollectiv’-ness and accessibility, and some of their works will consequently be on sale for less then £10. James Hopkins’ objects challenge pre-conceived notions of expectations and visual beliefs. A simple chair, through slight manipulation, stands on one leg and a small, grey bucket reveals a ‘Malibu Mirage’. In her displays Annette Kosak places the visitor at centre stage and engages a direct relationship with her/him. She is interested in a ‘desire for change’, articulating multiple spaces of reception and experiences. Norwegian Lady will rework their live performance of the week before. Dan Sutti will hook into the show by internet. Sutti has just moved to LA and will promote his song ‘Tattoo in Hollywood’. During the opening he will broadcast live images of his tattoo session.
